Home About TTC Background of Establishment

To keep up with the global trend of convergence of digital technology, the development of ICT industry and communications policies and regulations, the Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT, the former telecom regulator), proposed “Outlines of Plan for Telecom Technology Center” which was then approved by the Executive Yuan in June 2000.

In May 2002, "The Plan for Telecom Technology Center" was further incorporated

in the Executive Yuan’s "Challenge 2008: National Development Plan" as

one of the major projects. Under that Plan, DGT established

the TTC in February 2004.

Our goal is to become a think tank for the National

Communications Commission (NCC). It conducts

the research on the policies and technologies of

communications and InfoCom security. TTC also

devotes itself to provide world class testing,

certification, and consultancy services for

ICT products, and to assist local ICT industry

in upgrading its competitive competence.
