Communication networks of different technologies such as mobile, fiber optic, cable TV, and even satellite broadband are interoperating and developing. Regardless of which broadband technology is used, the public can enjoy the convenience of services such as digital platforms and innovative applications through the Internet. To continue promoting the development of digital convergence and normalize digital lifestyles for the general public, the TTC continues to assist the government in digital convergence project management by assisting competent authorities with advancing digital industry development through cross-ministerial communication and collaboration as well as observing and analyzing global digital economy development strategies and digital convergence policies for the communications industry. By grasping international legal development and industry trends, the Ministry of Digital Affairs is provided with references for improving Taiwan’s digital economic policies and promotional strategies.

Now that various digital services have been closely integrated with people’s lives, unobstructed data transmission and comprehensive cybersecurity protections have become necessary to establish a digital environment that caters to public needs while offering safety, security, and convenience; this is a critical foundation for the development of various innovative digital services. However, operating this digital environment relies on vast amounts of data. At the same time artificial intelligence (AI) and various innovative applications have heralded immense challenges to Taiwan’s digital development laws. The TTC assists the government in analyzing the environment and strategic needs for establishing suitable data security management and promoting data circulation for innovative applications and digital development trends. Research and analysis are conducted on the technical standards, security specifications, management systems, mechanisms of digital security and artificial intelligence management to assist the government in building secure environments that can support sustainable digital development.
