To understand the impact and market development trends of the telecommunications market after the launch of fixed-line ultra-high-speed optical fiber broadband and 5G rates, the TTC collected the fixed-line and mobile broadband plans provided by representative operators in major international markets to analyze the telecommunications industry’s role in the 5G era. The design and thinking of telecommunications providers for 5G plans and user usage patterns were studied to observe and analyze what control measures and policies are implemented by the competent authorities in advanced nations to regulate 5G market rates and service quality. This information is used to provide policy recommendations to the competent authorities in grasping and planning regulatory and supervisory policies that are suitable for the demands of Taiwan’s telecommunications market.

Monitor the specific telecommunications supervision mechanisms and policies adopted by various countries internationally, gather the management thinking and regulatory standards specifically used by advanced nations, and then evaluate and develop relevant policy and regulatory amendment recommendations dedicated to Taiwan’s telecommunications management standards based on current developments. Assist the competent authorities with innovating and refining a telecommunications management structure and licensing regulations specific to Taiwan to ensure that the management system caters to the development needs of telecommunications and improves both its efficiency and effectiveness.
