In light of active development of the domestic UAV industry, the TTC is coordinating with government policies with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Digital Affairs in preparing the implementation of UAV cybersecurity testing capabilities. On March 1, 2023, the TTC partnered with private laboratories in the joint establishment of the “UAV Cybersecurity Joint Testing Laboratory” and formulated the “UAV Cybersecurity Specification Standards” to establish a domestic cybersecurity testing ecosystem for UAV and help introduce cybersecurity protections for the industry. In order to enable a smooth integration of the domestic UAV industry with international markets, the TTC has partnered with the professional global inspection and testing certification organization DEKRA Group while referencing the “UAV Cybersecurity Specification Standards” jointly formulated with private laboratories to pass DEKRA’s on-site laboratory evaluation for the testing criteria of UAV. Today (11/28), the TTC officially became an authorized DEKRA test laboratory for UAV cybersecurity testing. A certification ceremony was held as the event marked a new milestone for domestic UAV cybersecurity testing capabilities. In addition to assisting domestic UAV manufacturers in complying with domestic security requirements, the TTC’s partnership with DEKRA will also support domestic UAVs in obtaining international certification to access the international export market by enhancing the domestic UAV industry’s competitiveness and visibility.

DEKRA is a world-renowned third-party professional testing and certification organization with operations in more than 60 countries on six major continents. Through a long-term accumulation of trust and brand value, DEKRA’s voluntary mark of recognition is greatly favored by both buyers and consumers across the U.S. and Europe. The present partnership of the UAV Cybersecurity Testing Laboratory between the TTC and DEKRA involves the TTC conducting tests that meet the security requirements as defined by DEKRA’s UAV standards; upon passing, the UAV equipment shall obtain a certificate issued by DEKRA. In the future, the TTC will also actively participate in the formulation of European and American UAV cybersecurity testing standards through DEKRA, which will be more conducive to improving the security quality of domestic military and commercial drones as well as exploring overseas business opportunities for drone products and applied solutions.

The TTC is the world’s first UAV Authorized Test Laboratory (ATL) recognized by DEKRA. It will uphold professional, impartial and high-quality testing technology and continue to promote the cybersecurity compliance of networked products. The TTC will also continue to coordinate with national development policies to support domestic enterprises in complying with various domestic and foreign cybersecurity requirements as well as enhancing the value and competitiveness of domestically manufactured equipment.
